The Fisher-Price Little Superstar Sing-Along Stage is designed to give 6 month old babies and older a beginning experience with music with its interactive musical features that allow the child to push buttons to hear different musical instruments like a xylophone, trombone, drum and guitar. There are also lights, music and melodies to keep baby entertained. There are two modes that can be switched back and forth. Mode 1 is where the baby can hear songs being played and mode 2 is where the baby can make music by pushing buttons. There are five sing-a-long songs that adults, older kids and toddlers can sing to. Babies love the mirror especially at 6 months of age so this toy is perfect for this age group. Instead of being annoying the flashing lights really captivate babies and draws their attention to the stage. The microphone is just a rattle and really does not function as a microphone. Can also be used by babies to learn how to kneel and look in the mirror, pull up and stand holding the toy. It helps that there are buttons (high/low) to change the music so that it isn’t as loud just in case the baby does not like the music.
One thing that reviewers found disappointing is that the keyboard is just one big key and not separate keys. The mirror is perhaps the biggest draw to this toy, which is sad, as it is suppose to be a musical toy. There are only five songs, which are not many when you consider it is, suppose to be a musical toy and for the price most reviewers feel that there could be more to the toy.
This toy is a favorite among young babies especially because of the mirror so if you are looking for a mirror toy this one is recommended. If you are looking for a musical toy and five songs are enough for your purpose than this toy will fit your needs. It is a very durable toy and can withstand the punishment that many kids playing with it can create. There are probably better musical toys out there but this toy is perfect for a young baby that wants to be entertained with lights, sounds, music and a chance to look at itself in the mirror.
